Distant Relatives is a unique ecolodge located in Kilifi, at the Kenyan Coast, which provides budget-friendly accommodation for families, groups and individuals who can choose to stay in a private room, shared dorm or safari tent, all built using a combination of local and traditional Swahili designs. The Ecolodge was created based on various aspects of sustainable living and responsible management. All toilets are eco-friendly water-less composting toilets, which is particularly important since the Kenyan coast suffers from water shortage every year. For those staying in dorms or tents, Distant Relatives offers communal showers built into a bamboo forest.
